Local Musicians Perform Benefit Concert For WTC Rescue Workers

From The Hip Productions and record label Studio 415 Inc. will contribute all event proceeds to Rescue Workers Fund

Smithfield, NC: In a show of community and American spirit, a group of Johnston County musicians and businesses will sponsor a special benefit event for the Fallen Firefighters of New York Fund and the American Red Cross Liberty Fund.

Admission is free at this all ages event on Sunday, October 7th, 2001, between noon and 5:00pm at the Neuse River Stage in Smithfield. Pony rides and hotdogs will be available for a dollar each, a go-kart valued at $800 will be raffled off for $5 per ticket, a wide variety of live music will fill the air, and 100% of all money collected will be contributed to the charities.

On the musical agenda, local rock n’ rollers From The Hip will headline the event, along with special guest appearances from their fellow Studio 415 recording artists.

Classic rock band Blue Dust Box, pop rockers Black Eyed Suzy, contemporary/country guitarist/vocalist Brien Barbour, and new age guitarist Keith Hoeppner round out the scheduled list of performers.

Carolina Packers donated food for this special event, and D&J Cycle Center on Highway 70 in Clayton will supply the go-kart.
